Integris launched a discrete investigation into the business activities and personal background of the local business partner. The investigation revealed personal relations of the agent with high level Government officials. Interviews with knowledgeable in-country sources further revealed that the local agent had a particular reputation of securing contracts through questionable business practices. Integris also learned that the agent had been subject of several criminal investigations and litigation cases, although he had never been convicted.
